The distinctive scent of juniper is immediately reminiscent of gin and the juniper berries are intensely aromatic when crushed and added to your cooking. A popular flavouring in central Europe, particularly in Alpine regions where juniper flavours anything from roast pork, goose, apples and of course the famous cabbage dish, sauerkraut.

uses: Juniper is a classic complement to strongly flavoured game. Crush and add to an apple sauce to accompany roast pork or add crushed juniper berries to flavour sprouts or braised cabbage.
