pink peppercorns: pink peppercorns
origin: mauritius

Not a 'true' pepper but the fruit of a related plant, pink peppercorns have a stunning colour and a very mild, sweet flavour. The berries are fairly oily and will not grind or crush easily unless used with a drier spice or salt. The berries can be eaten whole and in this state add an exotic colour and interesting flavour to your food.

uses: Add to sauces, particularly creamy sauces for fish or steak. Add to marinades or dressings.
