hibiscus: hibiscus flowers
origin: nigeria
   

Whole hibiscus flowers have a slightly sour, fruity flavour and are full of vitamin C and other goodness. When infused in boiling water, the flowers give a stunning colour and delicious cranberry or redcurrant flavour.

uses: Infuse in a syrup to flavour fruits or make a jelly or sorbet. The flower make a delicious hot or cold drink when sweetened with a little sugar or honey - try adding extra ginger or vanilla.

good with: red fruits, star anise, vanilla
